To the contrary, many claim that Apple have outdone themselves with this new gadget and you can deduct from most iPad reviews that you’ll be in for a truly enjoyable experience with this new product. The truth is that we couldn’t possibly expect any less from Apple. You will probably be impressed with the improvements that this product brings compared to the iPhone, for instance. Having a proprietary operating system, the iPad is easy to use in combination with other Apple products. The first impression you get from this gadget is a very good one. Not only does it look really good, but it lives up to Apple’s high standards in terms of hardware. Of course, we could expect no less from the iPad hardware. If you are the proud owner of an iPad, everything that’s been said so far is useless to you.

This short presentation may only help you rest assured that you have made a good choice, as all iPad news and reviews speak of how great the product is. What you probably don’t know is how much more you could do with this gadget if you were able to unlock it. It should come as no surprise that the iPad features a locked down file system which enables Apple to be in control of what this device can perform. After all, the same happened with the iPhone. Of course, everyone would like to be able to make the most use of this product, but this can only happen if you unlock its file system or, simply put, jailbreak iPad. An ordinary iPad user would probably settle for the given features of the device which are very good in themselves. But if you have the chance to do something more with it, why not take it? The only thing you have to do is look for information on how to jailbreak iPad. And such information is widely available. There are two programs available for the iPad jailbreak, and these are Spirit and Blackra1n. The great news about using Spirit jailbreak is that it will enable you to run whatever iPad programs you want even if they are not in the Apple Apps Store.

However, there are some requirements when using Spirit to jailbreak iPad, especially in terms of the firmware that your device is using. As for the other solution for iPad jailbreak, namely Blackra1n, it There is a great cost saving benefit if you unlock iPad.  Unlocking the device will allow you to control monthly charges and fees.  One of the biggest problems of iPad users is the high monthly charges of Apple-sanctioned carriers.  If you can unlock iPad, then you have the chance to choose a carrier that can offer lower fees and charges.  You will also get the chance to maximize some of the freebies offered by third party carriers.  These freebies may include free mobile tethering, free SMS, and free 08 calls.  Most important of all, unlocking the iPad will enable you to use the device outside of the coverage of exclusive carriers.  You can use it when you travel abroad or when you go to other places where the services of Apple’s exclusive carriers are non-existent allows you to fully unlock your device.

This means that you can use any carrier you want and store as many unapproved apps as you like. Similar to some extent, these two programs that can jailbreak iPad are different in that the former is untethered whilst the latter is a tethered program. The programs may not be infallible at this stage but the good news is that both of them are being continuously worked on for any errors that may occur. Besides, the operating system is the same for both iPhone and iPad, and the former has already been successfully jailbroken, which means that you soon be able to unlock your iPad and use it to its fullest.

now step by step re-emphasize how important it is to backup your SHSH blobs for the iPad. Do it so you’ll always be able to jailbreak. I would recommend Firmware Umbrella + saurik’s server (). Wrappers for FU like AutoSHSH are basically middleware and more likely to fail to properly backup your ipad before make jailbreak

  3. Gilad says:

no, this voids the warranty and is considered moding it, which prevents you from returning it. a reformat could make it look like it was not jailbroken, but could also brick it. you should still jailbreak it, though!

  4. That would be rather difficult seeing as the 3g version has yet to be released. When it is, it will eventually be jailbroken and unlocked.

    Of course not.

Dana doesn't know what she is talking about. If you jailbreak you iPod/iPhone/iPad its not a bad idea, yes there are risks that come with modifying a device, but it has many advantages. You can't update a jailbroken device via itunes (without additional steps first), that is true, but it won't break! It'll just be updated to the latest firmware but will no longer be jailbroken.

As for the original question, I do not believe a jailbreak has been released yet due to the iPad being on firmware 3.2 but I am 100% certain that people are working on it and it will be released shortly!

In order for cracked apps to work on your device, it needs to be jailbroken and if you want to sync them with iTunes, AppSync will be needed too.

OK, I'll be the idiot. What's to jailbreak? The iPad isn't a cell phone, so there's no issue of its being tied to one phone vendor. It's comm is via wifi and it is not restricted in any way, except of course the wifi portal either has to be open to all or else you need a username/password, but that has nothing to do with the iPad.

Explain to me what I'm missing here, please.

  13. Gordon says:

What I heard that iPad offers lots of restrictions as far as the control over installations are concerned. Its requires jailbreak so that you can manage the OS and install and play whatever you want to.

There is no jailbreak for the iPad yet, there are probably fake videos on youtube claiming to jailbreak it that are just bullshit, don't believe them. The iPad just came out today, there isn't a jailbreak yet and just hooking it up to windows 7 wouldn't jailbreak it anyways…

  17. Pouria says:

WARNING: Apple doesn't like people messing with their new toys, the smartest thing to do is wait until your iPad is out of warranty.

People who choose to jailbreak Apple's devices only do so to avoid paying Apple for Apps, and Media Content, that they know they should PAY for.

So, if you choose to do something illegal, and, become a "Software Pirate", you WILL suffer the consequences.

    Apps dont have cheats

  19. Austin Dryer says:

Not the same version, but the iPhone Dev Team has a iPad jailbreak out in beta right now, and should have a solid release any day. It's similar to blackra1n but customized for the iPad.

Since it's still in beta it's pretty gnarley to use, but they are getting closer to a fully ready public release.

  20. Mike says:

Mike - do NOT jailbreak your iPad. It just isn't worth the effort.

MyPadMedia is pretty cool - you get access to a ton of downloads that are ePub format.
You can get Harry Potter, you can access newspapers, Novels & tons of classics.

It doesn't work through the iTunes store.

You just sign up at their site and you're good to go. Login to the membership area and start downloading.

The site also works on your iPhone.

  21. irock says:

I would suggest you not to jailbreak your Ipad until your warranty expires. Just to be safe. And know the risk of jailbreaking your Ipad such as your personal information might be shared like your email and accounts you access via Ipad.

  22. For reading purpose, I'll say the Kindle ebook reader will definitely be better.

  24. tombradyzac says:

Since it runs the same OS as the iPhone/iPod Touch I'm sure you'll be able to jailbreak it the same way.
